Description
At first glance, the Kamakura sushi set for two is simply two octagonal plates and two
shallow soy sauce dishes of brown, with the plates edged in darker glaze on
opposite corners. But look closer and you’ll see how the unusually deep and fine
crackle texture of the brown glaze gives these distinctive dishes a mosaic look. The
over glaze looks like its still wet because its so glossy and dark, washing over the
opposite upper and lower corners of the octagon plates and pooling in striking
patterns around the mosaic patterns of the crackle glaze beneath. It’s a rustic
reminiscent of the Japanese provinces and now brought to you for your own table.
